34 CAFS for Melrose

Melrose took delivery of a 34 CAFS yesterday (Thursday).

The new Melrose 34 CAFS is based on a 2019 Isuzu FTS 139-260 chassis, is 4 x 4 and carries around 3000 litres of water and fitted with a Compressed Air Foam System (CAFS).

Built by Fraser Fire and Rescue, it has a Deutz BF4L2011W motor / Darley HE500 pump.

It comes fitted with driving lights and an Engel fridge and equipped with a Stihl chainsaw.

It includes additional safety features to protect firefighters, including a halo system (water deluge system) and an in-cab breathing system.

It was previously based at the State Training Centre.

It replaces the existing 16 year old Isuzu based Melrose 34, which will be refurbished and sent to another brigade.

Thanks Andrew Hogg for the photo.
