Nuriootpa CFS turns 60
Submitted On Tuesday, April 23, 2002

The Nuriootpa CFS recently celebrated the 60th anniversary of its formation. The day included a special lunch for over 90 present & former members. A book, entitled "The sirens wail" written by Nuri CFS member Tony Wege, tracing the history of the brigade from its formation in 1942 to present day, was launched.
Part of the day also included current members of the brigade demonstrating their skills in a Road Crash Rescue exercise.
In an ironic twist, just as the formalities of the day were concluding, the brigade was called to a fixed alarm nearby.
