22 Appliance

2000L, 2WD General Purpose Appliance

A 22 appliance (pronounced as 'two - two appliance') carries approximately 2000 litres of water and is a two wheel drive vehicle.

The last 22 appliance in the CFS fleet was decommissioned in May 2013 from the Ceduna brigade.. The 22 appliances have been replaced by more adaptive 4WD versions as they are phased out of service.

A 22 appliance was suitable for flat or undulating terrain conditions and suitable for combating grass, scrub and bushfires. A 22 appliance can also be used in urban environments, as well as hazardous materials spills and Road Crashes
