From 2004 onwards we continued to travel around the state, meeting people, taking photo at events, training and at incidents.Members across the state continued to send us photos for inclusion on the website. In September 2008, the Promotions Pumper was retired and sent to salvage. In its place, CFS provided us with a Toyota Landcruiser 80 series, previously based at Blyth-Snowtown Group. This vehicle really assisted us in getting to events and incidents. It was particularly useful for bushfires - being a Government plated CFS vehicle, equipped with a GRN and VHF radio, meant we could go to a fireground (with the knowledge and permission of the Incident Controller) and take photos from the inside. This is Promotions Car 1 at a grass fire at Gumeracha in January 2009. |
