Rosenbauer Panther 6x6. The Aviation Rescue & Fire Fighting Service brigade is based at the Adelaide Airport (West Beach Airport). It has numerous vehicles which have been purpose built for the specialist roles they have to perform. The Station is Manned 24 hours / 7 Days a week with a Fire Commander, a Station Officer and 6 Fire Fighters. 3 tenders are on line at all times with a spare vehicle on standby if required. The Roof monitor (turret) has a range of 85 metres, and an output of 4,800 litres a minute at 1,550 kpa. It takes almost 2 minutes to completely empty the tank. Special Features include:
Vehicle response configurations: 1st responding tender: - Station officer, 2 x Fire fighters, 3 BA sets. Carries Power hawk rescue equipment electric cutters, spreaders, power pusher, disc cutter, heart start defibrillator, oxygen resuscitation equipment and ancillary equipment, hoses etc 2nd responding tender: - Fire Commander, 2 Fire fighters, 3 BA sets, heart start defibrillator, oxygen resuscitation equipment and Ancillary equipment, hoses etc 3rd responding tender: - 2 Fire fighters, 3 BA sets,, Ancillary equipment, hoses etc Incident types.
An Aviation Fire Fighter may perform the following tasks:
The main response area for this station is anything within a 5 km radius from the airport, any distance from airport for aviation incident, or any distance upon request from MFS or CFS depending on availability of staff and vehicles. More details on these Tenders can be found on the Rosenbauer Site
