Ceiling Pike

Structural Tools - Pike Poles

A Ceiling Pike in use

A Ceiling Pike is a tool used in structural firefighting, and is used to facilitate access to compartments, such as internal walls or ceiling spaces during a structure fire so the seat of the fire can be accessed.

The handle length can vary depending on the need, but can be from 1½ to 3 metres in length. The head can be made from steel, brass or a light composite material and is shaped with a point to pierce the sheeting, and then the hook is used to cut the sheeting on the way out.
