BW6 for Athelstone

Athelstone took delivery of a new Bulk Water Carrier last week. The new State Aviation BW6 is based on a 1999 Isuzu FVR900 Long chassis, (previously the chassis for Summertown BW8) is 4 x 2 and carries around 6,500 litres of water (the back coming from the previous Athelstone Tanker It is fitted with a Deutz 2FL2011 motor /Darley HE500 pump. It replaces Athelstone Tanker, which was removed from service in 2017, due to mechanical issues. Athelstone CFS provides a statewide aviation firefighting support
