Media Release
22 March 2007
SA Country Fire Service volunteers in the State’s South East will have the chance to hear more about the fire service of the future in a special meeting with CFS Chief Officer, Mr Euan Ferguson AFSM.
The meeting, hosted by the South East Branch of the South Australian Volunteer Fire Brigades Association, will be held in the Cartwright Pavilion at the Naracoorte Showgrounds on Monday 2 April 2007.
SAVFBA South East Branch President Mr Rex Hall said the meeting had been arranged at the request of volunteers from across the region.
“The meeting will give all CFS volunteers the opportunity to hear the CFS Chief Officer speak as well as meet with him personally,” Mr Hall said.
“The gathering will also enable volunteers to inspect the CFS Heritage Fire appliances that are presently housed in the Cartwright Pavilion on the Show ground,” he said.
The gathering will commence at 6.30pm with a supplied BBQ tea with the meeting to follow at 8pm.
“The branch is looking forward to the meeting and we’re hoping that volunteers from across the region will take the opportunity to come along and meet with the CFS Chief Officer.
“All volunteers are welcome to attend, however a phone call with intending numbers for catering would be appreciated.”
