State Coordination CentreCoordinating the State Services
The CFS State Coordination Centre is located at CFS State Headquarters, within the Emergency Services Headquarters complex in Keswick. The role of this Centre is primarily concerned with Coordination at a State level. It coordinates and prioritises the allocation of all CFS resources, especially the State controlled resources. It will collect, process and communicate inportant information to senior CFS personnel so they can prepare for and respond effectively and effeciently. Inside the Centre, Liaison between other emergency services and agencies involved in the incident take place. This provides information to community to empower them to make decisions about their own safety through the use of Bushfire Information messages and Bushfire Warning Messages. The Centre will provide support to the Regions, Incident Management Teams and Firefighters through the provision of information and intelligence. While the SCC does not control incidents, it closely aligns itself to the functions of the Incident Management System, to coordinate as distinct from the Control and Command function.
