Northern Grasslands

Grassland areas within South Australia are generally considered to be for livestock grazing, or for minimal use where the annual rainfall is low.  Some areas in the South use irrigation to improve the pasture for livestock, but this is a small percentage.

The general grassland area is absent, or very sparse of trees.  In the Northern areas, dry tussock grass is predominant in sand rich soils making overland travel interesting for Fire appliances.
